Race Information

What:  Fundraising Run for the Poor Clares of Perpetual Adoration of Our Lady of Solitude Monastery.  All profits assist the Nuns in building their new cloistered Monastery in Tonopah, AZ.

When: Saturday, March 20th, 2021

Due to COVID restrictions, the 2021 Nun Run will be a virtual event.

The Nuns will miss greeting you, cheering you on, taking photos with your families and receiving your prayers requests face to face. However, though this is a virtual event and we will be separated by distance, it is a BEAUTIFUL THING TO BE SO UNITED IN PRAYER!

To highlight this aspect of the virtual Run, we are adding an additional Race Option. As in year’s past, you can register for the 10K, 5K, or 1 mile. And now, this year, we have another option: “The Prayer Walk.” Now everyone can participate in the Nun Run in whatever way they can – whether it’s a long prayerful walk or just a few steps! It’s for those who want to take a Rosary Walk, a stroll around the block with your little ones, or for those who – due to health limitations or age – are unable to take part in the Run physically but are prayerfully united to us in the spiritual exercise of intercession and prayer.

Another way of highlighting our being united in prayer is the date of our Run. On December 8th, 2020, Pope Francis announced a Year of St. Jospeh to extend through Dec. 8th 2021. As a means of celebrating this Year, the Nun Run will take place on March 20th, the Saturday following the Solemnity of St. Joseph.

All registered participants will be mailed a packet containing the official Nun Run Race Shirt, race bib, and resource flyer that will include the Nun’s prayer schedule for the Solemnity and some prayer resources to celebrate St. Joseph as well.

Be sure to register before midnight on February 21st to get your packet by race day. If you register between February 22nd through March 19th your packet will be mailed the week of April 12th (Due to our observance of Holy Week and Easter, these t-shirts will not be mailed until after the Easter Octave during the week of April 12th.)

During the registration process, you will have an option to note your School or Parish. All Schools or Parishes that register at least 12 participants by February 21st will have their School or Parish name printed on the back of the official 2021 Nun Run shirt!
