Who are the Poor Clares of Perpetual Adoration
The Nun Run is their main fundraising event of the year! But who are they? What are they fundraising for? Well read below and you will find out that and more!
Hi! We are the Poor Clares of Perpetual Adoration of Our Lady of Solitude Monastery. We are Roman Catholic contemplative nuns, located in the Diocese of Phoenix.
Our main work is adoration and intercession. We are dedicated to perpetual Eucharistic Adoration in a spirit of repartive thanksgiving (that means that we strive to offer our beloved Lord continual thanks for His goodness, love, mercy, and True Presence in the Most Blessed Sacrament…we do so on behalf of the Church and of all God’s children). We are also dedicated to intercession (praying for others). We are entrusted with many prayer intentions through our website, as well as interceding for the needs of the world – for the suffering, the dying, those struggling with addiction, heartache, or hopelessness. We pray for those who ask for our prayers, and those who are in most need of prayer. We kneel before the Lord begging mercy on behalf of all.
In addition to this hidden life of prayer, we have established Our Lady of Solitude Chapel and Monastery in Tonopah, AZ. Here, all are invited to come and experience the love of our God, in silence and solitude. The Chapel and public areas of the property are for the use of visitors and retreatants. Our hopes for the future include: adding on additional bedrooms to the monastery at allow for 14 Sisters, landscaping both cloistered and public areas, as well as continued site improvements.
In order to live our life of prayer and to continue with building this oasis in the desert for all of you, we are supported by Divine Providence through the generosity and support of so many. The Nun Run serves as our largest fundraising event of the year – raising both monies and awareness of our life and current need!
